Vince Young is starting his comeback with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the CFL. If Young has success, it might give him a chance to get back in the NFL.

Several notable quarterbacks have played in the CFL and NFL. Warren Moon and Joe Theismann began their pro careers north of the border. Doug Flutie had an eight-year run in the CFL before returning to the NFL.

Young is 33, and he hasn't played an NFL regular-season game since 2011 with the Eagles. But if he can recapture the form that helped him earned two Pro Bowl selections during his time with the Tennessee Titans, he may generate interest from NFL teams who are hurting for a quarterback.

Warren Moon

Despite a terrific college career at Washington that included being Rose Bowl MVP, Moon went undrafted in the NFL. He went to the CFL and led the Edmonton Eskimos to five consecutive Grey Cup championships in the late 70s and early 80s. He joined the Houston Oilers in 1984 and became a nine-time Pro Bowler. He was the first African American quarterback inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

After winning the Heisman Trophy at Boston College, Flutie began his pro career in the USFL with the New Jersey Generals, then had stints with the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots. He headed to the CFL in 1990. He won three Grey Cup titles and was named the league's most outstanding player six times in eight seasons. He returned to the NFL in 1998 and played until 2005.

Theismann was a fourth-round pick of the Dolphins after an All-American senior season at Notre Dame, but he opted to sign with the Toronto Argonauts and played three CFL seasons. Miami traded him to Washington, and he led the team to two Super Bowls, beating the Dolphins and losing to the Raiders.

Jeff Garcia

When Garcia was coming out of San Jose State in 1994, Bill Walsh, who was retired at the time, recommended him to teams that needed a quarterback but none drafted him. Garcia went to the CFL's Calgary Stampeders and was a backup for two seasons before getting the starting job when Flutie signed with Toronto as a free agent. In Garcia's fifth and final CFL season, he led Calgary to the Grey Cup title. At this point, Walsh had returned to the 49ers as an executive, and he signed Garcia to back up Steve Young. After Young absorbed a career-ending hit, Garcia became the starter and was selected for the Pro Bowl three times in his five seasons with San Francisco.

Vince Ferragamo

Ferragamo spent only one season with the Montreal Alouettes, but it is noteworthy because it came just two years after he helped the Rams reach the Super Bowl. He returned to the NFL to play three more seasons in Los Angeles, then finished his career with stints in Buffalo and Green Bay.

Andre Ware

Ware was Detroit's first-round pick in 1990 after he won the Heisman Trophy with the Houston Cougars. But Ware played just 14 games in four seasons with the Lions and had only six starts. He signed with the Raiders and Jaguars in subsequent seasons but never appeared in a regular-season game. In the CFL, he spent three seasons with three teams, including the Argonauts as Flutie's backup in 1997.

Joe Kapp

Kapp is the answer to a great trivia question: Who is the only quarterback to play in the Rose Bowl, Super Bowl and Grey Cup? Kapp went to the 1959 Rose Bowl with Cal. He helped the Vikings reach Super Bowl IV before losing to the Chiefs. In between, he led the B.C. Lions to two Grey Cup appearances, losing in 1964 and winning in 1965. The Lions retired his No. 22.

Danny McManus

McManus was MVP of the 1988 Fiesta Bowl in which he led Florida State to a 31-28 win against Nebraska. The Chiefs drafted him in the 11th round and he spent one season on the bench before heading to Canada. He played 17 seasons in the CFL, winning three Grey Cups and becoming a Canadian Football Hall of Famer.
